Invitation

The organizing committee of the XIIth International Workshop on Molecular & Cellular Biology of Plasminogen Activation would like to invite scientists world wide with interests in plasminogen activation and other protease systems to join us from March 31-April 4, 2009 at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL). CSHL is located on the north shore of Long Island about 45 minutes from New York City (NYC). It can be accessed by the Long Island Rail Road from NYC, and it is about 45 minutes from the John F. Kennedy International Airport (depending on traffic).

Topics to be discussed include:
  • Molecular, cellular, structural and mechanistic aspects of plasminogen activators and their receptors, inhibitors, cofactors.
  • Plasminogen activation in development, neurobiology, vascular biology, immunity, angiogenesis, tissue remodeling, cell migration and adhesion, proliferation/apoptosis, disease.
  • Gene expression, gene transfer technology, thrombolytic therapy, anti-cancer therapy; transgenic animal models of disease.
  • Mechanisms and biological roles of other protease systems in signaling, intracellular and extracellular proteolysis.

Since 1985, this meeting has been held every other year (except in 1987).  The meeting does not have Plenary Sessions or invited speakers, rather all sessions consist of presentations of submitted abstracts.  Posters of submitted abstracts remain up for the entire meeting to maximize opportunities for viewing and discussing current work.
