Mark Hickey
Mark Hickey was appointed to his current role in April 2004. He is responsible for all aspects of Vodafone Americas Inc.Mark is a 25 year veteran of the telecommunications industry and has over 20 years experience in the Human Resources field. He started his career with Pacific Telephone where he held a variety of operational positions, as well as Human Resources jobs, including Labor Relations. He joined AirTouch Communications when it was spun off in 1994.
Mark holds a BA degree and is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Executive Program on International Business. He also serves as a member on the Board of Directors of the YMCA’s of San Francisco and LEAD USA.
Sue Kempf
Sue Kempf is the Director of Portal Engineering in Group Technology organization at Vodafone. Sue and her team build the enabling platform for Vodafone Live! and other strategic service offerings for deployment throughout the broad Vodafone footprint. A twenty-four year veteran in the telecommunications sector, Sue has also held Director and Executive Director positions at AirTouch and Verizon Wireless. Sue serves as a Director on the Vodafone Foundation Board. Sue holds both a B.A. and M.B.A. as well as various technical certifications.Michael L. Olson
Dr. Michael Olson has spent more than 30 years in the wireless telecomm field serving in a variety of professional leadership roles advancing communications technology. He is presently with Vodafone, Group R&D, and has been involved in wireless technology evolution and outlook for the past three years. Dr. Olson has spent 12 years in wireless personal communications product development and implementation in the development of packet data, radio location and voice services in cellular and satellite networks. Prior to that, he helped pioneer spread-spectrum VSAT (Very Small Aperture Earth Terminal) telecomm with the first commercial CDMA satellite networks, commercialized technology related to satellite-based geophysical data collection and worked to develop meteorological data sensing via high altitude balloons at the US National Center for Atmospheric Research.Barbara Phillips
Barbara Phillips is the Vice President, Public Policy, Vodafone Americas Inc. In that capacity, she is in charge of Vodafone's Washington DC office, and is responsible for all federal public policy issues which affect Vodafone's 45% ownership investment in Verizon Wireless, a leading mobile communications company in the US. Prior to joining Vodafone in October 2002, Barbara directed the Legislative Affairs Department at Cingular Wireless from February 2001 to October 2002, and the Legislative and International Departments in Washington, DC, for AirTouch Communications (which was acquired by Vodafone in 2000) from April 1994 through July 2000.Barbara started her career in Washington in 1981, working for the House Interior Committee and several different Members of the House of Representatives, handling a variety of legislative issues, including telecommunications. When she joined the private sector in 1985, she pursued her interest in mobile communications by joining one of the national trade associations representing the interests of cellular telephone and paging companies as their Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, and, subsequently joined GTE in 1987 as Director of Government Relations, representing GTE's mobile, satellite and information services subsidiaries.
Barbara holds a BA from Ohio State University and a Master's Degree from John Carroll University.
Peters Suh
Peters Suh is the Director of Strategic Projects for Vodafone Group within their corporate strategy team. Prior to joining Vodafone, he was a managing director for Fremont Communications a $250 million private equity fund focusing on telecommunication investments. Peters was previously Vice President, Chief Technical Officer for Vodafone's Global Internet Services group and he has also held a number of positions with AirTouch, including Vice President of Internet Services and Vice President of Management Information Services. Peters is a director of Mirapoint, Inc. a privately held messaging company. Peters holds a B.A. and M.B.A., both from the University of California, Los Angeles.
