2005 Vodafone Wireless Technology Symposium Home About Location Lodging Posters Schedule Sponsor Committee Registration April 8-10, 2005 Siebel Center for Computer Science University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Travel and Transportation for Conference Participants University students/faculty: Your travel arrangements to the Vodafone Symposium will be paid for by grants through your University. Please contact your campus Vodafone coordinator to set up travel arrangements. Corporate guests: The Symposium will not be responsible for any travel arrangements. Please plan to make your own arrangements to travel to Champaign-Urbana. Limited shuttle transportation may be provided between airports and lodging. Additional information will be available at a later date. Airport Options: Willard Airport in Champaign/Savoy (approximately 5 miles south of campus) offers daily flights with connections to most major airports, on American, Northwest, and Delta airlines. Some area hotels provide a free shuttle from Willard to the hotel (and from the hotel to the airport on the return trip). When you arrive at Willard, use the free phone at the kiosk near the baggage claim to call the hotel and request pickup. Rental cars and taxi, limo, and bus transportation are also available at the airport for the short trip to campus. Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is located approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes north of Champaign, on the northwest side of the city of Chicago. Chicago's Midway International Airport is located approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes north of Champaign, on the south side of the city of Chicago. Indianapolis International Airport is located approximately 2 hours directly east of Champaign. Other: Other modes of transportation to Champaign-Urbana from throughout the region include: LincolnLand Express, Greyhound, and Amtrak. The award-winning local bus system is the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD). They have bus routes throughout the campus and two communities. Note the the conference will be providing shuttle buses between the hotels and the symposium locations.
